ALL SOULS' DAY

A basket will be available at the base of the altar for your All Souls' Envelopes. On the envelope, write the names of deceased family members and friends and enclose your offering. Place envelopes in the basket. The office staff will enter those listed on the envelopes into the BOOK OF SOULS. The BOOK OF SOULS and the basket will remain at the altar for the entire month of November and those named therein will be prayed for at all Masses during the month of November.

All Souls envelopes are available at the back of the church.

First Friday Eucharistic Adoration


THIS Friday, November 4, 2022

On the First Friday of the month, our parish celebrates Eucharistic Adoration immediately following the 9:05 a.m. Mass.

21ST ANNUAL FRIARS’ STUDENT WRITING CONTEST


High school students (ages 13-19 years) in the Catholic School Boards located in the Archdiocese of Toronto are invited to participate in this annual event that commemorates the global Week of Prayer for Christian Unity. Write a five-hundred word essay that explores the 2023 theme: “Do good; seek justice” (Isaiah 1:17)

Great prizes for top 3 submissions.

FIRST COMMUNION REGISTRATION


FIRST COMMUNION REGISTRATION is open on our website: saintcecilia.ca. Parents with children currently in Grade 2 (or above) who wish to receive First Holy Communion in the Spring of 2023 are invited to register.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:
Monday, October 31, 2022
(or earlier if capacity is reached)
The classes will be IN PERSON on Thursday evenings. The programme consists of 11 classes, 1 Saturday retreat and Mass attendance.

FIRST MEETING (must have registered on-line by the deadline):
Thursday, November 24, 2022 at 6:15 p.m. in the church Hall.

ENROLMENT CEREMONY:
Sunday, November 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. Mass

Please note:  Sacramental Preparation should take place in your HOME parish. If St. Cecilia Parish is not your parish, please contact your home parish as soon as possible regarding their First Communion/Confirmation programmes as their programmes may be underway.

CONFIRMATION REGISTRATION


ONFIRMATION REGISTRATION is open on our website: saintcecilia.ca. Parishioner families with children currently in Grade 7 or 8 who wish to celebrate Confirmation in the Spring of 2023 are invited to register.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, October 31, 2022.
(or earlier if capacity is reached) The classes will be IN PERSON on Tuesday evenings.
The programme consists of 8 Tuesday evening classes, 1 Saturday retreat and Sunday 11 a.m. Mass attendance.

FIRST MEETING: Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 7 p.m.(with parents and Confirmandi)
ENROLMENT CEREMONY: Sunday, February 5, 2023 at 11 a.m.
FIRST CLASS: Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 7 p.m.
MANDATORY RETREAT: Saturday, February 25, 2023
