FRIARS’ STUDENT WRITING CONTEST 2025
Deadline: Monday, January 13, 2025
Theme: "Do you believe this?" – cf. John 11:26
High school students (ages 13-19 years) in the Catholic School Boards located in the Archdiocese of Toronto are invited to participate in this annual event that commemorates the global Week of Prayer for Christian Unity from January 18-25.
Write a 500-word essay that explores the 2025 theme. Great prizes await the top three submissions! Students are to consult the resources for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity and answer the essay question.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR THANK YOU
Last Sunday's Christmas Market (Bazaar) was a success! Thank you to Sean and Maria McNulty, organisers. Thank you to the members of the Knights of Columbus Council 4976 and The Daughters of Isabella 1415 who helped with the event. Thank you to parishioners who donated their time planning and assisting at the event. Special thanks to those who re-created Santa's cozy fireside lounge and to Santa for joining us. Thanks to our face painter and our crafters. Thanks to elephant sale donors. Special thanks to families from our parish schools who came out to support the fundraiser and visit Santa. Thanks to all our parishioners and the Vietnamese Martyrs parishioners who came down to support the event. Special thank you to the sponsors of the raffle items. Raffle sponsors and winners will be posted next week.
The White Elephant sales, Auction, Raffle and vendor tables netted $930.10, and the kitchen brought in $300.
Thanks to all of you, $1,230.10 was raised for the parish.
The organisers thank you and welcome your feedback for next year!

Right to Life Christmas Cards and Campaign Life fruitcakes will be sold in the vestibule after Saturday and Sunday Masses this Advent season. Please purchase these items generously which support the Culture of Life in our society. On behalf of the Unborn, the Disabled and The Family, Thank you!

JOURNEY THROUGH ADVENT
The Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops (CCCB) presents an online weekly video series intended to help the faithful prepare for the Nativity of Our Lord by offering meaningful reflections on the Gospel readings during each of the four Sundays of Advent. The English videos, led by Most Rev. Francis Leo, will be released weekly and will be available on the CCCB website and on their YouTube channel as well as the website of the Archdiocese: archtoronto.org
2025 OFFERTORY ENVELOPES
2025 offertory envelopes are ready for pick-up at the back of the church. Please do not use your 2025 offertory envelopes until January 1st, 2025. Please print your full name, address, and phone number on the envelope, when making your first few 2025 donations.
New envelope users/parishioners are asked to fill out a Parish Registration Form and return it to an usher to obtain offertory envelopes for 2025. Thank you!
