Christ the King will restore all creation and restore his kingdom to the Father. The risen people of God will rejoice in a new heaven and a new earth. "There, with the whole of creation, freed from the corruption of sin and death, may we glorify you through Christ our Lord." (EP IV) Ordo 2019

CHRISTMAS CAKES & CARDS
Deluxe Cakes $27 ⎈ Regular Cakes $20 ⎈ Cards $10/pkg.
As in previous years, during the months preceding the great 'Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord', Right to Life Christmas Cards and Campaign Life fruitcakes will be on sale in the vestibule after Saturday and Sunday Masses starting this weekend. One of the most important fundraisers Campaign Life Catholic does each year, is the sale of the delicious Christmas cakes made by the Monks of Notre Dame Abbey. This helps to continue the work for the unborn, the elderly and the disabled, supporting life at every stage. Sadly, this marks the last year the monks will be making the cakes as they are very labour intensive. Enjoy one while you can!

'Christmas Star Program': Starts Next Weekend
Once again, the St. Vincent De Paul Society will be displaying a Christmas Tree in our Church, with dangling stars. Each star represents a gift that can be purchased for either a teen, (gift card), or family, (food gift card). Please take a star, and return it, with the appropriate gift card to one of our St. Vincent De Paul representatives, (donation box holders), after Masses, by Sunday, December 8th, 2019.
Gift cards can be purchased at any major department store or pharmacy. Food gift cards can be purchased at all major grocery stores.
Thank you for giving to those in our community who are less fortunate!

LECTIO DIVINA with Cardinal Collins
One Sunday evening each month all are welcome to join Cardinal Collins for Lectio Divina at St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica.
The 2019-2020 theme is Men and Women of the Old Testament. December 1 : Joseph and his brothers (Genesis 37:1-28)
In Lectio Divina we seek not to master or grasp the sacred text, but rather through it, prayerfully and silently, to come into the presence of God. We seek to be humbly attentive to God’s Holy Word, to savour it, and to let it enter into our heart as much as our heads, so that it may transform us.
We begin with music by the Cathedral Vespers Choir at 6:45 Vespers (Evening Prayer) at 7 p.m., and Lectio Divina from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m.
Lectio Divina is livestreamed via the St. Michael's Cathedral Basilica website at www.stmichaelscathedral.com/live
DEVELOPMENT & PEACE
For Our Common Home Campaign
The native Amazonian peoples have probably never been so threatened on their own lands as they are now.”- Pope Francis, Peru, January 2018.
This is true for Indigenous peoples, but also for traditional communities of the Amazon. Here are two communities in Brazil under threat:
- The way of life of Machadinho d'Oeste's seringueiros (artisanal rubber tappers) is being destroyed by industrial logging.
- The Mura Indigenous people of Manaus were not consulted before a phosphate mining company began operations on their lands.
Sign the Development and Peace - Caritas Canada Solidarity Letter today to support these two communities. Your signatures will allow us to call for their protection and respect of their rights.
Change starts with each and every one of us.
